Being from Floyd, I’ve been aware of the C4 Program — Floyd C4: Creators, Curriculum, Coaches, Challenge. I’ve also been honored to be asked to present at this program several times. It’s an annual 8-week series to help you start a business and concludes with an opportunity to “pitch” your idea and possibly win a grant for your business. I believe this fall’s program will be the 11th year of the program.
Recently I learned that Christiansburg has began a similar program called Launch Christiansburg.
What is Launch Christiansburg
Launch Christiansburg is an educational program focused on helping current and prospective Christiansburg businesses thrive. At the end of the program, participants will deliver a business pitch with the opportunity to be awarded up to $5,000 in business investment grants. This program is designed to help Christiansburg residents, whether they are creatives, entrepreneurs, or business owners, with:
- Information on how to complete a business canvas.
- A platform for business expansion.
- Connection to local resources.
- Another networking opportunity.
- Accountability to accomplish goals.
- Understanding why specific activities matter, how they fit together, and if they are relevant.
- The potential to pitch their project to a panel of judges who will be awarding the top three participants with business investment grants and memberships to the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
- Continued supportive services and access to a business mentor program.
The program is now open to anyone in the New River Valley (NRV)! So be sure to get your application in NOW! DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS JULY 31st! Here’s a link to the application: https://www.christiansburg.org/DocumentCenter/View/16526/4424_LaunchChristiansburgApplication?bidId=
