Business Feature: Lynchburg Arms

Small Town Floyd Girl Finds: Lynchburg Arms & Indoor Shooting Range

Today’s business feature takes us down the road a bit to Lynchburg. In a search for a sponsor for the Outdoors Bound segment for WFXR-TV (where I work), I found Lynchburg Arms & Indoor Shooting Range.

Located in Lynchburg, this indoor range has become a trusted space for folks who want to learn, practice, and grow their firearm skills in a safe, welcoming environment — whether they’re brand new or have been shooting for years.

Not Your Average Indoor Range

Here’s an interesting fun fact: Lynchburg Arms is home to one of the longest indoor public shooting ranges on the East Coast! That’s not something you stumble across every day.

With extended lanes reaching well beyond the standard indoor setup — plus additional 25-yard lanes — this range can accommodate everything from handgun practice to longer-distance rifle shooting. Add in a clean, climate-controlled facility, and you’ve got a place people can comfortably use year-round.

A Place That Welcomes Beginners

What I appreciate most is how intentional Lynchburg Arms is about making people feel comfortable. Shooting ranges can be intimidating if you’re new, but that’s clearly not the goal here.

They offer firearm rentals, required ammunition on site, and knowledgeable staff who are happy to answer questions and walk you through the process. Safety is clearly a priority — not just posted on a sign, but built into how they operate day-to-day.

Education Comes First

Lynchburg Arms places a strong emphasis on education and responsible firearm ownership. They offer Virginia-certified safety and concealed carry courses, along with one-on-one instruction for those who want to build confidence and sharpen their skills.

One thing that really stood out to me is the Lynchburg Arms Ladies Club. It’s designed to give women a supportive, judgment-free space to learn and practice together — and judging by the turnout in their photos, it’s been a big hit.

More Than a Business — A Community

Spend a little time on their Facebook page and you’ll quickly notice something: this isn’t just a range people pass through. It’s a place people come back to.

From leagues and matches to special events and training days, Lynchburg Arms has created a community around shared respect, safety, and learning. That kind of environment doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built intentionally.

Why I’m Highlighting Lynchburg Arms

At its heart, this spotlight isn’t about guns — it’s about local businesses that care about people. Lynchburg Arms has found a way to balance professionalism, safety, education, and community in a way that feels approachable and genuine.

If you’re in Central Virginia and looking for a well-run indoor shooting range, or if you’ve ever been curious but didn’t know where to start, this is a place worth knowing about.

And as always, I love highlighting businesses — near and far — that put people first and do their part to strengthen the communities around them!
